We are seeking a Market Risk Specialist to join our client's risk management team at a leading oil trading firm. This role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating market risks associated with their trading activities across crude oil and refined products. You will work closely with traders, risk managers, and senior stakeholders to ensure a robust risk framework while providing valuable insights into market exposure and potential risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess market risk exposures across crude oil and refined products trading portfolios.
- Analyze P&L fluctuations and identify risk drivers impacting trading positions.
- Develop and enhance risk models, methodologies, and stress-testing frameworks to assess market volatility and downside scenarios.
- Ensure compliance with risk limits and escalate breaches to senior management.
- Collaborate with traders, quants, and commercial teams to provide risk advisory support on trading strategies and hedging activities.
- Generate daily and periodic risk reports, including VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
- Evaluate pricing models and assumptions to improve risk assessment accuracy.
- Stay updated on global market trends, oil price movements, and geopolitical risks affecting trading positions.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements in risk measurement tools and reporting systems.
