We are working with a globally renowned energy trading firm, is seeking an experienced Gas Trader to join their European Gas trading desk. This is a high-impact position for an experienced trader with a strong track record in proprietary trading and a deep understanding of European gas markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for trading across the curve, up to five years out, leveraging market insights to generate and optimize trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute proprietary trading strategies across European gas markets with a focus on curve trading, extending up to 5 years out.
- Monitor and analyze fundamental and technical market drivers, including supply, demand, infrastructure, and geopolitical developments.
- Develop and execute profitable trading strategies while managing risk within defined limits.
- Collaborate with analysts and other traders to leverage market insights and data-driven analysis.
- Maintain and build relationships with counterparties, brokers, and other market participants.
- Stay abreast of market developments and continuously adapt strategies to evolving conditions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in gas trading, with a strong focus on proprietary trading and curve trading.
- Comprehensive understanding of European gas markets, including supply and demand fundamentals, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks.
- A self-starter with a strong commercial mindset, high resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure in a competitive environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
