Location: Dubai
An international bank is seeking a Compliance Officer to join the team in Dubai, this role will provide assistance to the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure full compliance of regulations and policies across the business.
We are looking for someone who is ambitious, confident and ready to roll their sleeves up and truly support the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in ensuring ongoing adherence to regulatory obligations.
- Support the delivery of onboarding compliance training, including anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions awareness, for new employees across the region.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures designed to ensure compliance with both local and international regulatory standards.
- Draft initial versions of compliance and AML reports submitted to senior stakeholders and group-level functions.
- Act as a support point in the absence of senior compliance officers, helping maintain business continuity and compliance coverage.
- Participate in the design and testing of internal frameworks to ensure alignment with corporate policies.
- Conduct routine monitoring activities and assist in the preparation of quarterly compliance reports.
- Perform client risk assessments, both for new and existing clients, in accordance with requirements.
- Review and categorize client relationships and support the review of flagged transactions through monitoring systems.
- Assist with responding to queries and information requests from regulators, auditors, and other external authorities.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and identify potential risks or documentation gaps.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the commercial team, to ensure operational alignment with compliance expectations.
- Provide support in ongoing AML initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory obligations.
Requirements:
- Understanding of DFSA or FSRA regulation (understanding of international regulatory laws is advantageous)
- Great understanding of KYC, AML, and CFT.
- Proven ability to take initiative and be a proactive problem solver.
- Have an understanding of sanctions and their impact on the financial services sector.
- 2+ years compliance experience within the financial services sector.
