Our client, a leading high-frequency crypto trading firm, are looking for a Trading Operations Engineer to join their Dubai office. You’ll be at the core of our high-frequency trading systems, ensuring seamless operation and optimizing low-latency performance. You’ll work closely with traders and developers to automate workflows and tackle complex challenges. The role requires working in shifts (16-hour coverage, 7 days a week) and participating in an on-call rotation to ensure the continuous operation of our clients trading infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the real-time operation of high-frequency trading systems.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate system issues as needed to maintain high availability.
- Analyze system performance metrics (e.g., latency) using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent solutions.
- Collaborate with software engineers, traders, and infrastructure teams to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Automate processes and deployments to enhance operational workflows.
- Manage configurations using tools like Ansible and support CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to system documentation and provide feedback on process improvements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to handle critical incidents outside regular hours.
- Show initiative in identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
What You Bring
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of IT or software engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Python scripting for automation and tooling.
- Proficiency with Linux systems, including shell scripting and networking.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, including clear and concise writing.
- Ability to think critically, make decisions under pressure, and escalate when necessary.
- Willingness to work shifts and adapt to the dynamic demands of HFT operations.
Other Skills
- Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, ElasticSearch, or ClickHouse.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible and CI/CD systems.
- Basic experience with AWS cloud services.
- Knowledge of distributed databases (e.g., ClickHouse).
- Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
