A leading oil trading firm is seeking a Trade Finance Officer to support its global trading operations by handling letters of credit (LCs), bank guarantees, financing arrangements, and risk mitigation. This role is critical in ensuring smooth trade execution, compliance, and efficient cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Finance Operations
- Process and manage Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby LCs (SBLCs), bank guarantees, and documentary collections for crude and refined oil trades.
- Work closely with banks to ensure timely issuance, amendments, and negotiation of trade finance instruments.
- Review and verify trade finance documentation, ensuring compliance with UCP 600, ISBP, and other banking regulations.
- Assist in structuring prepayment, receivables finance, and working capital solutions.
Banking & Internal Coordination
- Liaise with banks, counterparties, and internal teams (traders, treasury, and operations) to ensure smooth transaction processing.
- Support trade finance negotiations by coordinating with senior managers and banking partners.
- Monitor trade finance costs, exposure, and credit line utilization, ensuring efficient capital allocation.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with sanctions, anti-money laundering (AML), and internal credit policies.
- Assist in managing counterparty risk assessments and trade documentation reviews.
- Maintain up-to-date records of trade finance activities, reporting, and audit trails.
