The Dry Bulk Shipping Operator (Sulphur) will be responsible for the seamless coordination and operation of dry bulk shipments of sulphur. This role involves managing logistics, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing operational efficiency for sulphur transportation. The operator will work closely with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and port authorities to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipment Coordination: Oversee the scheduling, execution, and tracking of sulphur shipments, ensuring that all shipments are made on time and within budget.
- Logistics Management: Coordinate transportation from ports and storage facilities to final destinations, ensuring optimal routes and minimal delays.
- Documentation: Prepare and manage all relevant shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs documentation, and port clearance certificates. Ensure that all documentation complies with international and local regulations.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all sulphur shipments adhere to safety standards, including handling and storage procedures for hazardous materials. Ensure compliance with IMO regulations, environmental guidelines, and other applicable shipping laws.
- Communication & Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment progress, issues, or changes. Keep clients informed about any delays, challenges, or other concerns.
- Risk Management: Monitor potential risks associated with the transport of sulphur, such as cargo damage, delays, or compliance issues. Develop contingency plans and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
- Supplier and Vendor Coordination: Work closely with shipping lines, port authorities, and sulphur suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of sulphur from point A to B.
- Cost Control: Optimize shipping processes to reduce operational costs while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance are met.
- Reporting: Track performance metrics related to sulphur shipping, providing regular reports on shipping status, delivery times, and cost efficiency.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that may arise during the shipping process, including delays, documentation discrepancies, or regulatory concerns.
