Venture Search is partnered with a global proprietary trading firm known for its innovative, technology-driven approach to high-frequency and quantitative trading
Through excellent market performance and additional institutional investment, they are in rapid growth mode, seeking both seasoned Traders and Quant Researchers with experience trading and generating alpha in both APAC or LATAM markets (predominantly Brazil). Successful candidates will work directly with the co-founders of the business, who remain incredibly hands-on and have a business relationship going back 30 years. Their track record within the market is excellent, with a string of success in scaling teams and generating PnL within the systematic trading arena (mainly within HFT).
With the Sydney office being a new launch, you will get the chance to be an integral part of this groups success and be at the forefront of their exciting growth plans.
Candidates must already be in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cutting-edge trading strategies to improve market-making performance.
- Continuously monitor and assess market conditions, trends, and trading activity to make informed decisions.
- Work closely with the technology team to optimize and develop trading algorithms.
- Oversee risk management and ensure strict compliance with trading regulations and company policies.
- Offer strategic insights and suggestions to enhance trading efficiency and profitability.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4-6 years of experience.
- A degree in a STEM-related discipline.
- Prior experience working at a Market-Making firm.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide junior trading teams.
- Strong proficiency in programming skills in Python
- Quick decision-making ability and the capacity to thrive in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
