We are representing a prominent energy company with a strong footprint in the Central Western Europe (CWE) power markets. As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a Senior Intraday Power Trader with expertise in France and/or Germany to manage real-time trading strategies and optimize market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage intraday power trading strategies across the CWE markets, with a primary focus on France and/or Germany.
- Analyze market fundamentals, grid constraints, weather patterns, and price movements to identify profitable trading opportunities.
- Optimize short-term positions, ensuring alignment with risk parameters and company objectives.
- Utilize Python and other coding tools to develop, automate, and enhance trading strategies, models, and analytical tools.
- Collaborate with analysts, risk managers, and operations teams to enhance trading strategies and operational efficiency.
- Maintain strong relationships with market operators, counterparties, and transmission system operators (TSOs).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and adhere to internal risk management protocols.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in intraday power trading within the CWE markets.
- Proven track record of trading in France and/or Germany, with deep understanding of local market structures and grid operations.
- Strong knowledge of market dynamics, forecasting tools, and trading platforms (e.g., EPEX SPOT).
- Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages is required for strategy development and data analysis.
- Fluency in French and/or German is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setup.
