The Product Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, risk management, and performance analysis of trading activities within the oil trading firm. This role requires an individual with strong risk experience, technical proficiency in programming (VBA), and the ability to create and manage dashboards for real-time monitoring of trading positions and risk metrics. The candidate will work closely with various trading desks, finance, and risk teams to ensure accurate reporting, effective risk control, and optimization of business performance.
Key Responsibilities:

Risk Management and Reporting:
- Monitor, analyze, and report on trading positions, P&L, and associated risks within the oil trading portfolio.
- Conduct daily and monthly reconciliation of trading positions, ensuring accurate valuation of trades.
- Identify and mitigate operational, market, and financial risks associated with oil trading activities.
- Develop and maintain effective risk controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Financial Analysis and Performance Metrics:
- Provide detailed financial analysis, including the preparation of daily and monthly P&L reports, balance sheets, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with trading teams to understand market developments and adjust financial models and reports accordingly.
- Assist in pricing and valuation of products, ensuring alignment with market rates and accounting standards.

VBA Programming & Dashboard Creation:
- Utilize VBA, Excel, and other programming tools to automate and streamline reporting processes and risk calculations.
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards to provide real-time insights into trading positions, risk metrics, and key performance indicators.
- Improve existing tools, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in risk reporting and data analysis.

- Liaise with trading desks, risk managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on risk strategies and financial reporting.
- Support senior management in understanding financial performance and risk exposure, offering insights into potential areas for improvement.
- Assist in audit processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and best practices.
