Key responsibilities include:
- Leading sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, closing, and monitoring of fund and co-investments for the venture capital asset class.
- Developing transaction documentation and presenting to the Asset Class Investment Committee.
- Building relationships with top venture capital managers and representing the firm in the investment community.
- Clearly communicating their venture capital strategy to Client CIO teams and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting business development and marketing efforts for the strategy.
- Contributing to portfolio management of venture capital pooled vehicles.
- Assisting with team operations, including recruiting, training, and mentoring junior staff.
- Conducting market and manager research.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate M&A, capital markets, or valuation services.
- 5+ years of venture capital investment experience, ideally in primary fund manager selection for an endowment, foundation, fund-of-fund, or asset manager.
- Strong financial analysis, modeling, and company valuation skills.
- Ability to conduct industry research and write clear investment memoranda.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or professional certifications (CFA, CAIA) preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
- A team-oriented approach and ability to work well in diverse environments.
- Knowledge of information security processes and data protection regulations.
