Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Derivatives Sugar Trader to join our trading desk. The Derivatives Sugar Trader will be responsible for executing trades, managing risk, and generating profits through the trading of sugar derivatives contracts. This individual will leverage their expertise in sugar markets, technical analysis, and trading strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and deliver exceptional results for our clients and the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute trades in sugar derivatives contracts, including futures, options, and spreads, across major exchanges and electronic trading platforms.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies, including trend-following, arbitrage, and spread trading, to capitalize on market inefficiencies and generate alpha.
  • Analyze market trends, supply and demand dynamics, seasonal patterns, and geopolitical factors to inform trading decisions and identify profitable opportunities.
  • Monitor market liquidity, price movements, and order flow to optimize trade execution and minimize slippage and transaction costs.
  • Manage risk exposure and position limits by implementing appropriate risk management techniques, including stop-loss orders, hedging strategies, and portfolio diversification.
  • Conduct research and analysis to assess the fundamental factors driving sugar prices, including crop forecasts, weather patterns, government policies, and industry developments.
  • Collaborate with research analysts, economists, and trading counterparts to share insights, exchange ideas, and develop proprietary trading strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry news, market events, and regulatory changes affecting sugar markets, and adjust trading strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate trade records, performance metrics, and compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Provide timely market commentary, trade recommendations, and risk assessments to clients, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
