As an Oil Trader, you will be responsible for managing and expanding our clients physical oil trading activities across multiple products, including fuel oil, middle distillates, and light ends. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and customers to source, trade, and deliver physical oil products. The role offers a hands-on opportunity to grow a trading book from the ground up, with a focus on building long-term relationships and executing trades in a fast-paced, evolving market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Physical Oil Trading: Manage day-to-day trading activities for fuel oil, middle distillates, and light ends, executing trades with counterparties, suppliers, and buyers.
- Market Analysis: Continuously monitor global oil markets, including supply/demand fundamentals, geopolitical factors, and price fluctuations, to identify trading opportunities.
- Product Sourcing & Logistics: Source physical products and manage logistics, ensuring timely delivery and managing the complexities of transportation, storage, and handling.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies for the physical oil book, ensuring effective hedging and position management.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including refiners, end-users, traders, and logistics providers.
- Execution of Trades: Execute trades efficiently while managing counterparty risks and ensuring compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements.
- Business Development: Identify new opportunities for expanding the physical trading book, exploring new markets and products as the business grows.
