Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Oil Trader to join our trading desk. The Oil Trader will be responsible for executing trades, managing risk, and optimizing profitability across crude oil and petroleum product markets. This individual will leverage their market knowledge, analytical skills, and trading experience to identify trading opportunities, execute trades, and deliver superior results for the firm and its clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute trades in crude oil and petroleum products, including futures, options, swaps, and physical cargoes, across global markets and exchanges.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies to capitalize on market trends, arbitrage opportunities, and supply-demand imbalances, while managing risk exposure.
  • Monitor market fundamentals, including supply and demand dynamics, geopolitical events, production trends, inventory levels, and refining margins, to inform trading decisions.
  • Analyze market data, price movements, technical indicators, and trading patterns to identify trading opportunities and optimize trade execution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with counterparties, brokers, suppliers, and other market participants to facilitate trading activities and access market intelligence.
  • Manage trade positions, including hedging strategies, position limits, and risk management techniques, to mitigate market risks and achieve trading objectives.
  • Monitor trade execution, P&L performance, and key performance indicators to evaluate trading strategies and adjust tactics as needed.
  • Stay abreast of industry news, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting oil markets, and adapt trading strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including risk management, operations, finance, and legal, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Provide market commentary, trade recommendations, and risk assessments to clients, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
