The role of a Tax Specialist/Director involves assessing the tax positions of companies, evaluating the tax implications of their operations, and taking proactive measures to mitigate potential tax liabilities while ensuring adherence to both local and international tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess business activities, market trends, expenses, revenues, financial obligations, and commitments to evaluate the current tax stance and identify potential risks or provide strategic tax advice.
  • Calculate tax liabilities and prepare tax filings, ensuring full compliance with all reporting, payment, and regulatory obligations.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the organizational structures and operations of the group and affiliated companies.
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate transfer pricing policies within the group, and develop/maintain supporting documentation and local files, independently or in collaboration with external consultants.
  • Create and manage country-by-country reporting files for all entities within the group, either solo or with third-party consultants.
  • Review and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to ensure they are accurate, complete, and aligned with tax documentation.
  • Provide guidance on the tax impact of business operations, organizational changes, and restructuring within the group.
  • Prepare reports for management on the tax status of various entities.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Department (HOD) or Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
