As the Metals Trading Manager, you will lead a team of traders in executing trades across both physical and derivative markets. Your expertise in LME metals and scrap metals, combined with a strong grasp of hedging and risk management practices, will drive the team’s trading strategy. You will manage a balance between seizing market opportunities and maintaining effective hedging practices, ensuring the team’s performance aligns with our growth and profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of five traders in executing physical and derivatives trades across LME metals and scrap metals.
- Oversee the team’s trading activities, ensuring adherence to risk management policies, compliance standards, and performance targets.
- Develop and implement strategies for hedging and risk mitigation, making data-driven decisions to optimize the balance between physical and derivative positions.
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, buyers, and counterparties, ensuring consistent access to market insights and competitive opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze global market trends, price movements, and geopolitical factors affecting the metals markets.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (risk management, finance, operations) to ensure smooth trade execution, accurate reporting, and alignment with company objectives.
- Report on team performance, trading metrics, and market outlooks, providing strategic recommendations to senior management.
