Joining the Legal team of the global oil trading firm, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in advising on various commodity trading, shipping, and finance transactions. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in reviewing, drafting, and providing counsel on shipping contracts (including charterparty reviews), physical and financial commodity trading contracts, general terms and conditions, and derivative & exchange contracts and rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer legal advice on operational, commercial, corporate, and transactional matters concerning the firm's supply, trading, and financing activities.
- Draft, review, interpret, and amend various legal documents relevant to the firm's operations.
- Assist in handling any litigation or claims affecting the firm.
- Contribute to the development of junior legal professionals, coordinating with other departments to implement training and development programs.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel.
- Collaborate with key departments within the firm, such as Corporate Governance and Compliance.
- Coordinate with other legal departments within the larger organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.
