Our client is an electronic  trading firm focused on market making and arbitrage opportunities globally. Technology is at the forefront of their business, powering their global trading platform and the micro-decisions required for successful trading.

Responsibilities

·Deliver focussed improvements to the operational robustness and profitability of the trading platform
 · Contribute to mission critical projects encompassing everything from trading, pricing, positions and risk, through to analytics and market connectivity
· Work flexibly with a focus on real time issues as well as long term projects
· Performance tuning, maximizing throughput and minimizing latency
· Ongoing consultation with the trading team to understand how technology can best satisfy their needs

What you will bring:

· Core Java focus
· Development in either C++ or C#
· A scripting language, preferably Python
· Experience working in a High Frequency Trading firm
· Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments
· Understanding of network protocols
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· A genuine interest in financial markets
· Strong academic record in a computer science degree
