Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Oil Operator to lead our operations team. The Head Oil Operator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of oil trading operations, including logistics, transportation, inventory management, and compliance. This individual will play a key role in optimizing operational efficiency, minimizing risk, and ensuring the smooth execution of trading activities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the oil trading operations team, including schedulers, dispatchers, and operations coordinators, to ensure the timely and efficient execution of trading activities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize supply chain logistics, transportation, and storage of crude oil and petroleum products.
- Coordinate with suppliers, refineries, transportation providers, and storage facilities to manage delivery schedules, handle logistics, and optimize inventory levels.
- Monitor market conditions, shipping schedules, and pipeline capacities to anticipate potential disruptions and mitigate operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies governing oil trading operations, transportation safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implement and maintain systems and tools for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on key performance indicators, including inventory levels, shipment status, and operational efficiency metrics.
- Collaborate with trading, risk management, finance, and legal teams to address operational challenges, resolve disputes, and optimize trading strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, government agencies, and industry partners, to support operational objectives and foster a culture of collaboration.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to operations staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in oil trading operations, and identify opportunities for innovation and process optimization.
