A leading oil trading firm is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to assess and manage counterparty credit risk across physical and financial trading activities. This role is critical in ensuring risk exposure is well-controlled while supporting commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit Risk Assessment: Analyze the creditworthiness of trading counterparties (producers, refiners, shipping firms, banks).
- Exposure Monitoring: Track daily credit exposures across physical and derivatives portfolios.
- Limit Management: Recommend, implement, and monitor credit limits based on risk appetite and market conditions.
- Financial Analysis: Evaluate counterparty financial statements, credit ratings, and industry trends.
- Collateral & Security Management: Assess and structure credit support mechanisms (LCs, guarantees, margin calls).
- Trade Structuring Support: Work closely with traders to assess risk in new deals and optimize trade finance solutions.
- Stress Testing & Scenario Analysis: Model potential credit losses in extreme market conditions.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare risk reports for senior management and ensure regulatory compliance.
